Brand Planning Workshop - Creatives for Minute Maid-Pulpy Orange

These are a few print ads that our group came up with as part of an assignment to advertise Minute Maid's Orange drink. This is a new soft drink in India, introduced by Coca-Cola. The USP of this drink is the pulpy nature of the drink which sets it apart from the rest of the competition. The drink is targetted at young adults and the brand ambassador in India is the popular VJ Nikhil Chinnappa. The main competition for this drink would be Tropicana.
It remains to be seen how Pepsi responds to this product.

The scenes in a b school

My morning begins with the clanging of my roomie's alarm. I wake up. He does'nt.
I get ready in 25 min and i rush out of my room only to see several others doing the same. All roads at 8.25 AM seem to lead to the elevator. After we bang the door shut, I can see lots of weary , half asleep faces, each barely managing a smile. Ruffled hair, half shut bags, stubborn umbrellas, everything gets set right within the cramped confines of the elevator.

As we sprint towards college, we see several others walking up briskly, umbrella in one hand and laptop in the other. You can forget your wallet in Mumbai and live to tell the tale...but not your umbrella!

Its not common to see a few guys fishing by the lake with all the time in the world and you cant help but wonder,"What a life?!"

What it is supposed to mean

What management is?

Surely not a question you would ask yourself 2 weeks into b-school . Amidst Financial accounting, Micro Economics, surprise and-not-so-surprise quizzes, tests, results, figuring out the secrets behind deciphering CGPAs,et all , out pops a class on learning Management.
And out popped this question.

It was surprising to see that none of us in class could beat the claim that "management education was just a fad". As much as we tried, PM would simply swat away all our arguments. To support our understanding of the true meaning of management, we were asked to read this book.

This book is written by a former Chief Editor of the Harvard Business Review. Well in management circles, that must sound like the Bible. It gives a lot of useful and not so useful insights on how organisations are run, how people and resources are subject to change, on values, execution strategies and so on... What is nice is the author's wide spread knowledge on various organisations which stems from her first hand experience of being in the academic and corporate world. The examples from Ford, GM, Nike, Toyota, Honda, etc are insightful to say the least...

Until i read this book, i never knew that the Nike shoes i spend 5 grand buying, are never manufactured by Nike.. The router i buy from Cisco was never made by them... It all boils down to outsourcing and cheaper transaction costs.. Brand management takes such a huge meaning.

Over all, if u r the kind who likes reading management books, this book is definetly worth a read...
